Day 2–The Survivors

Here’s another guessing-game poem.

If you don’t know what’s going on, see my original post here and be sure to donate if you’re able to CSMA (please give my name on the memo line).

The Survivors

The planet turned that day
Though its life was at an end.
The planet burned that day
And those scars will never mend.

We left our home in fire
Flew towards a world of myth.
It was one man’s desire
That led to all of this.

And now we live in echoes
Of what once was true.
We sail on through cold emptiness
With silence as our crew.

The world we knew is gone and dead
Our home now is no more.
But we move forward, raise our heads
Unsure what we head towards.

Our ship is our salvation
Though it may be our fall.
We stand as human nation
And cry, “So say we all.”

  1. I don’t know what this is a reference to (unless it’s The Beast Below), but I really like this. A lot.

    • Thanks! It’s not a Doctor Who one but I’m going to wait a bit and see if anyone gets it. I can always tell you in person 🙂

    • By the way, this is another Battlestar Galactica poem. I can’t help myself. It’s a sickness.

    “What’d’ya hear, Starbuck?”
    “Nothin’ but the rain, Admiral.”

A sickness? Gods, yes! May we never recover!
