Day 21–Ode to Batman

If you still don’t know what’s going on, see my original post here and be sure to donate if you’re able to CSMA (please give my name on the memo line).

Ode to Batman

Sadness in the line of his jaw,
his broad shoulders.
It stirs in his eyes,
his gravelly voice.
The weight of it alone
could bring evil to its knees.

Childhood sorrows swirl in his cape
and in the depths of his eyes.
The leering nightmare faces of his enemies
cannot compare
to the blackness he has seen.
Death’s twisted laugh and rotting grip
could never hold him,
for he is not a man.

He is the nagging sensation
in the back of the criminal’s mind,
The shadow the darkness fears,
the knight of the ruined city.
He is the blood of the innocent
and the cries of the fallen.

He is the symbol in the night,
the black clad ray of hope,
The ever present
force for good.
Look up, you may see him.
an angel
amongst the demons.
